1st Month Down!

January of 2013 has come and gone...hard to think we are a month into our new year already.

Today was weigh in day...and I lost 3 pounds!! Whoo-Hooo!!  So that means I have lost 10 pounds this month...I met my goal.  I'm so happy!!!  Kool-aide smilin!

I feel like my confidence is creeping up (a little) and I feel my clothes getting slightly more comfortable instead of skin tight/suction cup feeling.

I have a confession though...I didn't work out this week!! =(  The Hubs and I didn't get up early or resist the urge to veg in the evening.  But, we ate healthy all week and got back into the grove of having a menu.  It worked well apparently!  But, working out is much needed and HOPEFULLY next week I will be back on track.  The Hubs just says that it will be good to start next week with our working out because it will mean my weight loss next week will be even more since I will be increasing my calories burned.  Whatev, Hubs...we shall see.

This weekend is the Super Bowl.  We have been invited to a party...blah...I'm not a big NFL fan.  Not sure if we will go or not.  BUT, if we do, I will volunteer to bring some healthy food options so I know I will be eating some low calorie/low fat/low sodium/low carb.....ok, I'll be drinking water...  So, we will see if that happens.

Happy February!  Here's to hoping for another 10 pounds in this short month!  Lets get this started!

The Good, The Bad, and the...

Alrighty!  Weigh In Day!

Before posting the results, let me give a break down of my past week.  As I mentioned, the Hubs and I were spending time with the in-laws all weekend.  We actually went to their house for the weekend (Friday-Monday since Monday was a holiday and we were both off work), but I didn't specifically say we were going to their house because of crazies on the internet! =)  So, that lets you know it was even MORE difficult due to the fact that we weren't at home so we couldn't prepare our own meals.

Exercise was non-existent for me while we were there (and actually, we didn't work out at all this week...fail).  We slept late, stayed up late, and just had a good time.  Once we got home, we kinda fell into that same pattern again lol.  The only exercise I recorded on my WW log was shopping, which we did for around three hours on Saturday, so that was about the most movement I had while on our mini vacay.

The food we ate was still halfway decent.  We had Subway while out shopping, and then we made sure to eat healthy options if we went out.  Wait...I need to stop saying "we" because the Hubs decided to eat things that weren't on our healthy option menu.  He splurged I guess. =)  One night my sister-in-law made a really good ground turkey meatloaf, greens, scalloped potatoes, and italian bread.  I had a normal portion of all, but I wanted a second plate sooooooo bad.  I resisted and since I resisted, I allowed myself to have a small helping of apple crisp and chocolate ice cream.  Needless to say, I did go over my daily WW points that day, but surprisingly I didn't go over my extra points for my whole week!

Once we got back, it was back to the work grind.  I bought myself a stability ball to sit on at work.  I can't sit on it all day because it's annoying to roll around, but I try to sit on it for a few hours to help burn some kinda calories a day in the office.  I also made some bad food choices this week once we got home.  I hadn't had a chance to buy groceries or make a new menu for the week so we did eat a frozen pizza one night (not the whole thing, but we ate some lol), and we had Chic-fil-a another night after getting off work later than usual.  I still was able to stay in my WW points for those days though!

I have to say that not eating my usual Nutribullet breakfast (mostly I have been having a McDonalds Egg McMuffin since I need to buy my fresh veggies and fruits) and not working out has made me a bit more sluggish.  I noticed I did have a migraine twice this week...not sure if that is related to my "off" week.

Soooooooo............with all this negative/off week talk, its time to get to the results.

I actually lost 2 pounds this week!  WHAT??!!  Not that I condone my actions or choices this week, but that is pretty rad (do people still say that?) to see that staying on the WW points can really help in still losing weight.

That makes my total loss since January 1st, 7 pounds.  I am okay with this number (it's not Biggest Loser number, but who does that?!) because this is hopefully going to help me achieve my goal of 10 pounds a month.  I know that 10 pounds a month is a pretty healthy rate to lose.  If I have lost 50 pounds by the end of May, I will be doing a happy dance! (Viral video to follow)

My measurements seemed to be more reflective of my choices this week.  I only lost 1/5 inch for my total combined inches. I lost that in my chest (bye-bye tatas..okay more like bye-bye back fat)  Everything else stayed the same.  So this just goes to show, that while your scale may be good one week and measurements aren't it can be just the opposite the next week!

So this week, it's back to the GRIND.  I am going to go shopping tomorrow for all our meals for the next week, then  I will make another meal plan for the following two weeks.

My in-laws will be here the first two weekends in February, so I will be cooking for them and making sure we are eating good, but not eating crazy!  I looooove cook, especially for company. =)

Well, on to next week, ya'll!  I will keep ya posted as things progress.

If you are in the weight loss world, please post some ideas or suggestions you have! The more the merrier!  Strength in numbers, people...strength in numbers! ;)

I blame the weather!

Okay, so week 2 of my weigh-in is complete.  Drum roll please......I lost..... 1/2 a pound... WHAT?!  Arg...I was hoping for 3 pounds but alas...it wasn't even one pound.

Am I disappointed?  Yes...but I also know that things will fluctuate and my weight will go up and down through this process.  The main thing I have to remember is that I'm still loosing, even if it isn't at the rate that I would like to see.

I am continuing to take my measurements, which is helpful.  I lost another 5.5 inches overall!  Most of the inches are coming from my chest, stomach and hips area (praise dance), then I also measure my neck (don't ask me why), my upper arm, my upper thigh, and my calf.  So with seeing that I'm still loosing quite a bit in inches from my body, that makes me feel really good even when the number on the scale didn't go down as much as I would have liked.  I'm not sure where the weight goes when you don't loose on the scale but do loose in inches...anyone know?  I guess the chubbs just shift to other areas lol. jk.  I'm sure there is some logical reasoning for this.

We will see how this weekend goes.  We will be spending time with my husband's family so we usually eat out/eat bad.  You know how it is when you get around family.  So I will continue to log my points with Weight Watchers and if I do eat something forbidden, I will make sure that it is in moderation and not in glutton measurements.

Happy Friday to you all!  It's cold here...loooove it!

Dinner and a hubby

We made it through the week! Eating out but eating right! This points system with WW really works!!  Surprised at how easy it really is...highly likely to recommend it to others!

On the menu tonight:
Panera
1/2 Mediterranean veggie sandwich
1/2 cup natural chicken noodle soup
Side serving of a baget with soup (splurge item lol)
Unsweetened tea (sigh...the southern girl in me is crying out noooooo...but Splenda saved the day!)

Good day..and I wasn't tempted for grabbing more than one mini cupcake at the office party today! (Yeah the mini cupcake was a splurge item too but still made my point for WW!!)

Oh! I'm now doing a 10 day cleanse! I suppose I'll be saying "hellooooo" to the bathroom but I'll keep yall posted about that. Jk lol

Keep on keepin on! :)

Week one is in the BAG

Week one is done!  Well, its two days past 1 week, but after the first two days, I started Weight Watchers and they only allow me weigh in once a week, so I will be weighing in on Fridays now.  That isn't so bad I suppose because then I can make sure to do really well during the week and have a GREAT weekend! =)

I have lost 5 pounds!  I have also lost 5 inches (combined) on my body!  I think I am liking this results thing!

My husband and I have started doing the Insanity videos.  They are exactly what they claim to be...insane.  But it's nice to be challenged and try to complete the videos each morning.

I have found that working out in the morning is much better than expecting to work out in the afternoon because by the time I'm off work, and finally get home...working out is the last thing on my mind.  So 5:15am alarm clock going off is not the most fun but it really jump starts my morning.

I am also using many of the Weight Watchers recipes, and they work really well for me.  I looooove to cook, and trying new things is always fun for me.  I'm also packing my lunch each day so I won't be tempted to make a McDonald's run for a quick lunch.  Snacking during the day has helped as well.  But all in all, I still stay in my points limit from WW!  During the day I'm not starving and I don't feel like I'm not getting my food intake in for what I want to eat.  Just eating healthier.

We also have a Nutribullet http://www.nutribullet.com/...highly recommend.  It's great for a morning smoothie.  Mostly I have been using spinach, kale, blueberries, stawberries, half a banana, natural Whole Foods peanut butter, flax seeds and Soy Vanilla milk.  GREAT way for the day after we do our Insanity work out!

Today is also a sad day.  My work bestie is leaving for another job.  Shout out to my Pattsy.  She is my most funny and non-PC friend I have...which I love completely about her.

On to week two of this bandwagon!  Here's to hopefully 3 pounds for week 2?? =)
